REGISTERING FOR STATE UNEMPLOYMENT AND INCOME TAX
Please go to this site and click "Continue" at the bottom of the page to begin the process. Register for the withholding tax and the unemployment tax.
TIP:
Future-date registration is possible for this state's unemployment insurance and income tax withholding!
Once registered, you will receive an Unemployment Account Number (UI), Unemployment Rate (%) and Withholding Tax Account Number (WH) which you will need to enter into Namely Payroll under Company > Tax screen (UI & WH tax).
If you've run payroll in the past in Missouri, you can find your Tax Identification Number on the Employer's Return of Income Taxes Withheld (Form MO-941) received from the Missouri Department of Revenue. This is for Unemployment.
Pertaining to Income: if you've run payroll in the past in Missouri, you can find your Employer Account Number on the Notice of Liability sent to you by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, on your Quarterly Contribution and Wage Report (Form MODES-4-7).

Employees who live or work in Kansas City, MO are subject to a tax from the City of Kansas City, MO, Finance Department.
You can find your Kansas City, MO Account ID by logging into your Quick Tax Account (click on Businesses and Individuals).
If you don't have a number yet, you can also Register Here under Businesses and Individuals.
In order for Namely Payroll to file and pay your City of Kansas City, MO Earnings Tax on your behalf, we need to know the Letter ID that is printed at the top-right of letters that you have received from the City of Kansas City, MO, Finance Department within the last year. Your Letter ID can also be found by logging into your Quick Tax Account.
St.Louis, MO
Employees who live or work in St. Louis, MO are subject to a tax from the City of St. Louis, Earnings Tax Department.

POWER OF ATTORNEY FORMS
Please note, Namely does not require a Power of Attorney for this state at this time. It is not required to file or remit payments on your behalf. If one is needed to resolve a tax matter, the tax notice team will request one from you at that time.

STATE INCOME WITHHOLDING FORMS
Namely uploads Federal and State W-4 documents to your HRIS site for use during Onboarding, or if you need to send W-4s to employees who need to make withholding adjustments.
TIP:
The most up to date W-4 documents can be found in the Namely section of the Document dropdown menu in Onboarding and Manage eSignature.

Accepts Federal W-4: No
Comments: Before starting work, each employee must provide the employer with a completed copy of Form MO W-4, Employee's Withholding Certificate, specifying the employee's filing status. Without Form MO W-4, the employer must withhold as if the employee was single. The withholding certificate becomes effective upon the first payment of wages and remains in effect until a new form is filed by the employee. The employer should file the Form MO W-4 with the state revenue department within 20 days of hiring a new employee.
Note: Form MO W-4 was revised Dec. 12, 2018, to remove the use of withholding allowances.
If an employee's filing status changes, the employee must file a new form.
Timely Compensation Deduction
The Missouri Department of Revenue allows for a tax credit (a "timely compensation deduction") for timely filing and payments of employer withholding tax. Find out more here.
